Wow, that’s pretty high actually. I paid $300 for parts (ring/pinion, master install kit, gear oil and LS additive), $160 for new b&m diff cover, $350 for install. $810 total but really only $650 for gear and install. The cover was just an extra since I was planning on spending more originally.

Yeah I purchased everything my installer recommended. I’m rear wheel drive so really it’s already 50% cheaper due to no front ring/pinion. I sourced my ring/pinion and master install kit through eBay. Then purchased the fluid and additive through Amazon. The diff cover I purchased through Jegs.

I and many run Yukon gears. Very happy.
Skip the diff covers. They're largely only for looks and many are actually less effective. Look up Gale Banks on YouTube.
