i went with the 5.5 bed because a bulldog or a dead buck don't care about that extra 1' of bed space lol.
i was actually eye balling a screw 6.5' bed tremor but they wouldn't budge on price at all, so i found mine, for a cheaper price, just without the tremor package, but with a cap.
it does take some getting used to, but after some practice you can get the hang of it. I drove a crew cab dually for two summers, after awhile i could put that thing almost anywhere

Maybe they threw tremor decals on an FX appearance truck?

I don't have a garage, my vehicles are on the driveway so that isn't a concern for me. I've had regular cabs with 6.5' and 8' beds, Crew cabs with 6.5' beds and Screws with a 5.5' bed. I've driven F250 Screws with 6.5' and 8' beds.
I've never found anything that would fit in a 6.5' bed that I couldn't fit into a 5.5' bed. If it won't fit a 5.5' bed then I've always needed 8' or a trailer.
I CAN drive and park the bigger trucks, I drove a bus for 30 years. But I choose not to. The only reason I'd buy a Screw with a 6.5' bed is if I planned on pulling a 5th wheel trailer.

I came from an Superdude supercab 8' bed. Now a 150 Scab with a shortbed, er, 6.5 foot. It ain't that big, you'll get used to it, unless you need to put it in a garage that might not be big enough. The problem isn't the size of these trucks, it's the parking spaces that have all become ricersized. Yes, some of us remember when a real fullsized car was like a 1970 LTD. And parking spaces were actually large enough that even Aunt Bessie could put her 1960 Chrysler Imperial in them, and still be able to get out!

I just think that the Screw w/ the 5.5' bed looks better, period. Unless you need the 6.5' bed, I can't see why you'd get it. Shorter wheel base with shorter overall truck ... better turning radius ... and as others have said, there are very few things that won't fit in the 5.5' bed that will in a 6.5' bed, but most of the time those things might as well have the 8' bed if you're going larger than the 5.5' bed.
Finally ... the amount of room in the back of the Scabs is awesome. Even if you don't "need" it ... You'd be surprised how much use you can get out of it, whether its for the comfort of passengers, or just putting stuff back there and not having to cram it in.
I LOVE my Screw w/ 5.5' bed ... and while I don't "use it like a work truck" all the time, or as much as a lot of you might ... I do use it more than often enough for work stuff ... and so far, anything I can't get in the 5.5' bed is usually better served being on a trailer ... at which point, the best doesn't matter anymore anyway.

I would say they are most popular since they are sold to those who don't use it as a truck, don't need it as a truck, and just use it as a DD. They also are easier to drive and park.
I too would like a 6.5 bed, but there were none when I was buying. At one time I had an F350 Dually Screw with an 8' bed. I drove it daily to work, and parked it in my garage, so size doesn't matter in my case. I just got what I got because that was all the got when I got it.
