Default Sun visor tint

I have a 2010 Ford F-150 platinum and I want to know how many inches do people do their sun visor tint? I know the state law here is 6” but I’ve seen people do 8”, 10” and even 12”.

There should be an AS-1 line that is usually the legal limit (if you’re trying to stay legal). Take a look at the top of the windshield on either side from the front of the truck.

I know about the line and legal limit. I don’t mind going below the line tho. I’m not sure what others have done and how it looks.

Mine is tinted right to the AS-1 line.
(Sorry, not a great pic)

7-8" would be about the sweet spot IMO. Once it starts taking up a 3rd of the windshield it starts to look ridiculous. Guess you're getting away from the whole windshield tint idea?

Stick with what's legal and eliminate that pesky probably cause.

Not sure exactly how far it is, never gave it a 2nd thought and they always renew my inspection sticker so I take that it is legal. Had 5% (limo) put on.

I’ve been thinking of doing between 8-10”. St debating on doing the whole shield though.

Took a closer look today and while the top portion of tint is even with the dot matrix the factory puts on, it definitely extends below the AS1 line the same amount on both sides. No idea how it was cut like that but as I said they haven't failed me on inspection in the past 6+ years.

Keep in mind LA is IMO the most lenient on state inspections its laughable. 5% doors + 35% windshield on previous truck. They take your insurance information and hand you the sticker. Not even a headlight/brake light check.
