Default Sun glare off dash

what do you guys do about the sun glare off the dash on to the inside of the windshield. I have a 2012, I have not cleaned the dash yet, so it's not from any type of glossy cleaner/protectatnt.
some days it's so bad I have problems seeing out of windshield. I wear sunglassess all the time when driving during the day (even when raining or snowing) because of a light sensitivity issue after having LASIK a few years ago.

does anyone else out there have any issues with this

Funny you mentioned this. Same thing here only with cataract surgery on both eyes exactly a year ago. I've got 2 pair of Oakleys, 1 with polarized lenses or mirror and the other with regular lenses. With the regular I've got a bad glare but completely gone when
I switch to the mirrored ones.

I found it out by accident when I drove off and only had the regular with me,
others were in the house.

I bought a 2012 STX last year and the glare from the dash to the winshield was quite annoying, as well as dangerous.

Finally, the sun came out again this year and the 1st thing I noticed, once again, was the glare from the dash.

I tried a piece of velour on the dash, which seemed to eliminate the glare. From there, I took a look at "Dashmats", which I decided, I maybe didn't want.

My next step was to the basement for my can of "High Heat Rust-oleum Flat Black" spray paint, which I use on the coal stove. I sprayed part of the driver's side dash .. not using masking tape or planning on doing a "finished job". I just wanted to see, if it did the trick. I believe it did!
The first 2 pix are of the driver's side windshield and dash (not a quality job, yet). The second 2 pix are of the passenger side, windshield and dash. The effects are most noticeable on the blue drums, ahead of the truck. Some glare, may be present on the driver's side, still, because there are areas, which I didn't get painted or painted properly.

I don't know the long range effects of this ... the dash might rot off, but I don't think so.

Polarized sunglasses will get rid of 99% of the glare.

But, I if had been born without ears, I wouldn't be able to wear the Polarized sun glasses.

Window tint can resolve a good portion of your problem! Just be careful with your state law and tint on the front windshield... Most states are steep on the limits for the windshield but some shops offer a UV blocker which is a clear film which will reduce the glare... I have installed several windshields on vehicles 1. for glare, 2. for people with health conditions. Here is a link to my facebook page of one of the windshield installs I did in the past......https://www.facebook.com/HOLKOSTINTA...type=1&theater Its kind of hard to tell since its clear, hope it helps though!
