Search the interwebz for "parking brake bypass" for your head unit. Mine was a small relay with a couple wires hanging off it. They are cheap.

I didnt see any in the 2016 Expedition I rented so I am thinking they removed them. I am sure like 2 people ever plugged anything in.

I thought about doing this but assume the composite input would suck. Good to hear it works well. I like the idea of using a chromecast, then I can just cast google maps to the screen.

Ok so there hasn't been any posts on this subject in a few days. To those that know, I have a 2014 FX2 with factory navigation. There is talk about grounding a certain wire. Does anyone know which one? Any pictures?

Older thread, but very interesting. Anybody try the chromecast? I'm not opposed to being plugged in, but no point if it doesn't mirror screen while driving (navigation, etc). Anybody find a way to mirror screen while moving?

I believe for chrome cast to work you have to set it up on a WIFI network. Your phone and the chrome cast have to be on the same network.
