Sub cutting in and out SOLVED
Thought I'd post this since it solved my problem. I was dealing with this for a few months and had given up for a while thinking that I would simply save up and replace the whole thing. To be noted that I had the entire sub/amp checked by a tech and everything seemed to be fine except for some sketchy soldering here and there which he touched up but the problem still persisted. The only other thing left to do was to check all the wiring from top to bottom and like most of you guys out there would, I thought (#@% that!!)
Eventually I decided to try my luck and simply replace the stock amp (little gray box) which goes for 140$ instead of 600$ to replace the whole sub and amp box. I'm no expert in audio systems but I figured that since the sub performed well, when it did and the bass cut out randomly (parked or rolling) there was a better chance of it being an amp related issue than a wiring issue. Now with the new amp the bass never cuts out!!! Hope this helps someone.
*Keep in mind you might not have the exact same problem I had so don't blame me if you end up spending money for nothing*
