Default Sub-Box

I thought about making one but supporting a small local company is always nice. What did you buy, from where, etc. Brand, etc.

For my 1997 F150 Extended Cab

If a local shop will build you a custom ported box I would do that, if they are only gonna throw a prebuilt box screw that and build your own.

I personally feel it better to do the box the right way, the pre built boxes and cheap and most aren't completely sealed or have screws, most shops charge about 150 to build a custom box, but you can build one for 50 bucks if you have basic carpentry and math skills. I built all my own box which includes 2 15s 1 10 4 10s and my most recent and favorite 2 10s

I agree with building IF you know how to tune it correctly (especially if ported). A lot depends on the style of music you listen to, type "sub enclosure design" into Google and check out some info.

Try this site, he has some good info.

If you lived in Oklahoma, where I'm from, vesus Minnesota I would know right where to send you and who to send you to. My buddy builds some of the best sounding boxes I've EVER heard in the garage of his car/home audio store. Whether you're wantin to beat the streets with deep bass from rap/r&b or you're wantin to shred people's ear drums with screaming guitar licks with rock/heavy metal, he tunes them better than any I've seen.

Depends on how custom you want to go... if you are having a box built that will fit basically any truck your body style then I think they could probably still fix you up... The only problem is that usually Brad likes to do the installs himself that way he can make sure that you are happy with the results.

Plane Music- Enid, OK (580)233-8920 Brad or Justin

Performance Audio- Enid, OK (580)233-7767 Shawn

Talk to both these places. Plane are the guys I recommend highest. Performance Audio are big time award winners.

Give custom sound works in lubbock Texas a call they will ship boxes and are super loud and already have the plans for a truck like yours, I help out there on the weekends and free time. The owner mike jones has multiple records in SPL what nots and for a long time was the record holder for the loudest van.
