Thank you guys for all your in put. Well you see I don't have winter tires. Have offroad tires and I was going to put the studs that screw in. Do you think that will be on? Do you guys have any experience with the screw in kind.

Haha yeah. I'm in for a big surprise. I don't have an engine block warmer! But it will be garaged most of the time. I would put one in but from what I read if your truck didn't come factory with one you can't put one in

Most states require that studs must be in tires designed to accept studs. With deep snow and 2wd, you have to go with skinny tires to cut through and down to the pavement/ground. Those things will really bog you down.

I just went with rear snows/studs and weight over the rear wheel's but I also had a mid-size pick-up with normal front tires. For your truck if you want to be safe, go all 4 studded snows with weight in the bed. Just go to craig's list or a junkyard and get a cheap set of wheels to mount them on.

i run studded Goodyear duratrac's and they are fantastic on ice and hard packed snow, the tires themselves are great in slush and deep snow too.
