Default Strange noise?

My brother in law has an 05 dodge 1500 4.7 4x4.

It has a strange noise like he is dragging a brush underneath. I have checked all the heat shields, suspension, undercarriage. This is his description.

Any advice besides buy a ford would be appreciated. Don't worry I've already tried that. He wanted an f150 but got a steal on that truck so I didn't blame him

That is a pretty vague description. Have you tried posting a more detailed description on a Dodge forum? They are probably more help if it is something more common in Dodge Trucks.

That was my thought. I told him this morning to jack up the front and spin each wheel by hand and listen for noise. Then to pull the calipers and rotors to check for any dragging noise and/or rocks caught in the dust shield.

Yeah if it's a constant whirring it would possibly be wheel bearings. Depending on how good his brakes are it could even be the calipers piston telling you they're not going to last much longer.

You gave him the best advice. Sounds like brakes, bearings, rear end.
