Didn't mean to come of like a bag man. In a way I was agreeing with you.

I want to hear the positive stories the owners. I take the negative with a a grain of salt.

As planning to replace my 2000 Tahoe Z71 (problem free) this Fall, I also have been comparing various trucks.

My big con on the RAM is all the underbody rust on brand new trucks still on the lot. Even the consumer report video of the RAM has a shot with lots of rust. Okay, I know (in theory) that just surface rust and shouldn't be a problem.... But spending that type of money it should have less rust than my 2000 Tahoe (pretty darn clean).

The F150 V8 is currently at the top of my list. But is a difficult choice as they both have pros and cons.

I don't want to seem like I'm talking bad about the F-150. But, they also have their own amount of surface rust on stuff under the truck. Just one of those things.

It's very difficult for me to opine between the other brand of trucks, and Ford. When I go to buy a truck, I automatically go to the Ford dealer. That's just me. I have always had good service from all of my F-150's, so I don't think about the others. If your undecided it's always best to drive them all, then whittle them down until you get to the one you like best. Like you said, all have their pros and cons.

iv had no issues with the 2 dodges iv owned aside from normal maintenance, all of which being on the 98. my 06 was amazing, id buy another in a heart beat, and my 98 now is great at 150k trouble free miles.

if i went off howmany repairs iv needed to do to my own fords and my friends have done with theirs, i would never buy a ford haha. but i love the look of the fords over the other body styles aside from the new dodges.

Just get what you'll be happiest with. If you like the RAM that much then go for it. There is a lot that is nice with the RAM. You'll be very hard pressed to find people on here to say anything good about RAM.

Agree on that. I worked for Cummins Diesel Generators out in Houston. We had a 1976 shop truck it had over 750k miles on it. Now if only if the made a truck with Dodge´s Cummins engine, Chevy´s Allison transmission and Fords body and interior that would be a truck.
