My dad has a Ram 1500. The interior looks and feels pretty cheap. The only reason he went with the Ram over the F150 (he bought it new) was the 7yr-100k warranty and he ended up needing it. The engine blew out while in Mexico and he then had to have it towed back to the states. He did get the engine replaced under warranty though.
Prior to that most of his trucks have been F150s. Driving his truck after driving mine it just doesn't feel as good to me.

I had an '06 with the 5.4. It's a good engine, but underpowered. The transmission is overkill, so few worries there. A magnaflow cat back and a rousch CAI woke the truck up a bit and an Edge tune also helped. Not sure of the weight of your boat, the length of the towing drive or the terrain, but some or all of those may be needed. Check to see if the plugs have been replaced. If not and they foul, it is potentially very expensive to get them replaced - they break rather easily. Overall it was a very nice truck.
The ram (if same year?) had significant rear diff and transmission issues and you will also want to check the gas mileage. Make sure you get not the carfax, but the maintenance records of the truck to see about the drive-train.
Good Luck!

I say, its best to just drive both trucks and decide for yourself.
Posting this type of question here, you are going to have people saying "Ford!" because its a Ford forum.
Judging by the title of this thread, i guarantee you put "stop me from buying a f150" on some ram forum. And will have them saying "ram!"

To the OP. Man you can try the Ram forums if you are looking for inaccurate information. I won't even say 'I toldya so.'

I guess in a way you're right, but make no mistake. First I got the truck, then joined the forum, not the other way around. I did my due diligence before I bought this thing. My membership to this forum is a result of buying the better truck and not the other way around.
