I have a 2011 F-150, and somebody stole my tailgate. The Ford house quoted me at $1400 for a new one. Does anyone know of a better place to go?

I am seeing a lot of tailgates on eBay...brand new. I am wondering if people are stealing them to sell on eBay. There selling them for like 450 or something like that. I Always ensure mines is locked bc a lot of tailgates are getting stolen around here.

What's a good way to lock mine, if I'm a 92 without a keyhole style lock? Thought about a gear clamp (for rubber hoses), just to slow someone down or stop some dumb unprepaired kid. weld a tack into the flathead part so you couldnt use a standard screwdriver only a nut driver...
