Stock exhaust with aftermarket muffler
Anyone have experience using an aftermarket muffler with the stock exhaust system? I was thinking of installing a borla or magnaflow muffler, but not the entire system. I also like the idea of splitting the exhaust into two tail pipes running into the ford racing raptor tips behind the passenger side back tire.

I have a magnaflow muffler on my 2013 Fx2 and it sounds great! At idle it is a low rumble and when accelerating it is very deep and semi-loud. Once at speed you can't even tell that any aftermarket exhaust work has been done until you get on the throttle again. My muffler + Install was only like $200 and I LOVE the way it sounds.

I got a quote for a Flowmaster 44 (recommended by installer) for a nice deep tone on my 3.7L. Price is $150 out the door. I know its only a V6, but he did this to another F-150 and he admitted it sounded nice. He was actually surprised. I Havent decided yet though.

Have a VX muffler along with my stock pipe and exhaust tip. Sounds good at start up and idle and not too loud. $125 out the door installed and I can't complain.

i used to have a magnaflow muffler installed with a 3.5" magnaflow tip. Too quiet though, so now it's true dual with no mufflers, and 6" dump tips. Sounds like a truck now.
