Default Sticky Glue Remover

I have this glue type substance (the same type that is found on new credit cards after you pull it from the paper) stuck onto my paint for my door edge protectors. Does anybody know any product that removes the glue without damaging the paint that I could use?

flattop2001: try acetone, it should not bother existing paint or rubber.

Exclamation

flattop 2001 - try acetone, it should not bother existing paint or rubber.
*HEADS-UP*
  • paint - will "only" remove and/or cloud the finish.
    .
  • rubber - will "only" deteriorate/eat the material.

Have used it to remove 3M™ Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment Tape residue from body panels with no ill effect. *NOTE: You do need to wax/polish the area afterwards.

The op is almost 5 years old, I believe they probably already removed the glue, that or it wore off, LOL
