Stick shift?

Stick shift?
Hello all FORD people & F-150 lovers. I dumped GM a long time ago & went Ford & never looked back. The best thing I ever did as far as truck's go. I always like a stick and it was always hard to find them.(New anyway) You had to get them(F-150) reg/cab roll up windows etc, etc. Things like that if you wanted a stick. But for what I needed if for work It was the price I had to pay for a 5 speed. When I got my 2005 super cab(I needed a little more room) an a V8,5.43V I could not get one! They told me they did not make them anymore.(no one did not that I would not get a Ford) So I got the 4speed,o/d auto trany. Its a good trany as far as holding up I have over 164,000 mils on it. But I think it a dog next to a 5 speed stick! You would get the full 300+HP out of the 5.4,3V with a stick. You would get so much better power & MPG out of it lower RPM & less msrp to boot!! I almost went F-250 just to get a stick. They have 6 speeds in them, but way to big for my needs. How many of you feel the same way as me? Would you like to have a stick? I know that there newer trany's are 6speed auto's with o/d. I heard good things about them & I am sure its better then my old 4speed auto. Now to me a truck needs to have a stick to be a truck. IMO. I just think American's are getting lazy. I would love to get a new F-150 4x4 crew cab 5.0 with a 5 or 6 speed stick in it. So how many of you would think of buying a stick in an F-150 if you could get one?? I just know that I drove a friends F-150 the same truck as my 2002 reg/cab 4.2 6cyl 4x4 & it was a dag next to mine with the 5 speed stick. He tryed mine & was p/o at how much better it felt with pick up & power, etc, etc. So what say you?? I like to know.
Thank you.,

In 1995 I bought a brand new Jeep Wrangler with a stick. I daily drove that Jeep for 20 years. Honestly, I have a stick in my Jeep because Jeeps HAVE to be a stick. I also have a stick in my Musclecar because Musclecar's HAVE to be sticks, but now that the Jeep is retired and I am driving my F-150 daily I'm happy as a pig in poop to drop it into drive and go.

Same way here i would love to get manual. I even considered trading my brand new F150 for a ranger. I just can't stand the automatic. I know for fact there is a lot wish to have a manual but the majority don't. I work in the automotive/tractors industry and you would be surprise to know that they are trying to make them dummy prof. Basically any knuckle head can work a big loader with minimal training.
My speculation the manual transmission going to be a safety hazard.

I like the feel of driving a stick every once in a while but for all day, every day I want an auto!
The new 10 spds coming out will be awesome for these big *** trucks!
I do want a manual shift 4wd lever and locking hubs instead of the motor and vacuum systems!

If a stick was offered I would seriously consider buying one, but more than the transmission, I would like a transfercase shifter and manual hubs. I miss that more than anything. One of my favorite trucks was a 89 Ford with a T18 manual trasmission, T20 transfercase, and manual locking hubs - it would pull a house off the foundation.
