Default Steering Issue

I have a new 2012 F150 4x4 with some steering issues, the truck has less than 3500KM and the steering wheel does not return to the zero position (sometimes) when turning to the left, I also find that it sticks sometimes and the steeriing itself is alot stiffer than than when i got it three months ago. Is this normal or do I have to get the rack replaced, the dealer suggested that I get the updated program for the truck but I don' t see this correcting the problem. Any suggestions would be great.

This is not normal, off the top of my head it's a possible W/A issue or there's a chance there's an issue with the electric power assist so an update might fix it as well

I had the issue of it not returning, and feeling like it was hung up. They replaced my entire rack (as in rack and pinion). The dealer should have a TSB on this and replace it free of charge.

Mine happened much before 3500 km. No issues since they replaced it.

TSB 11-8-18 is the TSB number that could be a possibility

Most likely the electronic steering assist gear is binding up, take it to the dealer to replace the whole rack.

Default Steering Issues

The dealer reprogrammed the PCM but I think it made it even worst, kinda of making me rethink my purchase, what happens when the warranty runs out, could be expense. Maybe there will be an hydraulic kit available before this happens.

The warranty runs out in 2 years. Just take it back to the dealer and tell them it didn't help and made it worse. If he can drive it and experience it that will be a big help.
