Angry Stalling issue, NEED HELP!!!

My truck keeps stalling out. Between the dealer, a local mechanics shop, and myself, its gotten a host of new parts, and still stalling out. It will start and idle fine for a couple of minutes, then cut out. Then it will crank over but not start again. After a couple minutes of sitting, it will start back up but then the pattern repeats. I literally have no clue what to check at this point. The only code it throws is P0453. This is the only vehicle I have and I can't afford to just keep throwing money at it. Can someone please help me out here?

So far its gotten the following chasing the problem:
  1. New connectors on all 8 COP's
  2. One new COP
  3. All 8 plugs
  4. Fuel pump
  5. Fuel pump control module
  6. EVAP purge valve
  7. Relocated fuse #27
  8. Cleaned MAF
  9. Cleaned throttle body
  10. Changed oil

seems like they were chasing both fuel and spark. Did anyone do any diag when it failed to determine what fuel pressure was (at failure) and if there is/was spark (at failure)?

seems very strange that a dealer or independent shop wouldn’t have started there? Did you get any diag reports/info from them or did they just talk you into firing parts at it?

?is p0453 recurring and always popping when it fails, or are you saying that is the only code it ever threw, but not necessarily every time?

Had an older Silverado that did similar to me and it ended up being the knock sensor. Had it to 3 different shops over 6 months who couldn't figure it out, threw a similar parts list to yours at it. I finally decided to swap the knock sensor and the issue never came back.

I know its a totally different brand, etc. but I wanted to throw it out there in case there's a way to test it on Fords.

The code has been there since I bought the truck 2 years ago. So I don't believe its related to the stalling issue as this is a new issue. I do not have reports from them other than the repair invoice itself. I would definitely say it was just firing parts at it. They had no clue what was causing it, and just suggested that this part, or that one, would fix the issue. I was told by mechanic that fuel pressure was falling off which was causing the stall. That is when it was suggested to replace the fuel pump. That was 3 weeks ago. It did run good other than hard starting which he believed was bag fuel. I will add that earlier today I gave the bottom of tank a couple smacks with a rubber mallet and it hasn't stalled out since. However, I haven't driven it yet so.... I highly doubt that the new pump is already shot, but could it be debris in the tank clogging the pickup screens?

From quick read look to cleaning throttle body, checking plugs, with time and age change gizmos on top of plugs. I also have a 5.0 with a 14 f150 4x4 with 122000 miles

I think you either need to get a scanner that can provide you actual data, or a mechanic that will. In other words, as example: what is the actual fuel pressure when it dies? Without an actual psi number, it sounds like he’s just guessing it may be dropping off. Even then (if it dropped off causing problem), you don’t just immediately assume it’s the pump.

without data/diag, It’ just playing with parts cannon

Until you can get data:, if I were you I would run tank down and then fill up with fresh/good fuel (rule bad fuel out). Then run it and see if you still have issues.

These things, less the coils has already been done. I replaced one COP on cylinder 8 because I was getting a misfire on that cylinder and the boot was stuck to the plug when I pulled it out. That is the same time that I replaced all 8 plugs.

Seems odd that the dealer and shops would not try to resolve the code as part of troubleshooting. If it's been persistent for 2 years, I would think it should be looked into. Here's the info for that code from the shop manual, as well as the test procedure/pinpoint test.
