Default Spark Plug Deterioration

This is a photo of 2 spark plugs that were pulled from my truck last week (June 2017). I bought this truck in December of 2016 and was told and shown an invoice that all 8 spark plugs were replaced.

Is anyone aware of an engine issue that could cause a spark plug to deteriorate this quickly or was I lied to by the dealership/mechanic shop?

What's the invoice date?

Those plugs could be original. That style went away a long time ago.

My experience is that many dealership employees are honest.

A little more info on it all:

-Invoice date was 12/13/16

-Right after I bought the truck, it had misfire issues so the dealership (small privately owned) said they would get it fixed and based on the invoice, they did.

-Invoice says 8 x Motorcraft SP515 spark plugs were put in. Stock is SP507 so these spark plugs have definitely been replaced since the factory, just not sure when.

-2 months after the original service, I started having misfires again but assumed it was everything BUT the spark plugs since they were just replaced.

-Fast forward to now after having the entire truck serviced, all 8 ignition coils replaced and countless hours in the shop, my mechanic finally pulled all 8 spark plugs and found that they were in rough shape. He says there is no way that these spark plugs are 6 months/less than 2,000 miles old.

Wanted to confirm that with all of you.

I'm not sure even overheating constantly for 6 months would destroy a plug like that. Those are well over 6 months, I'd guess several years but can't say for sure.

Your sparkplugs appear to be from the year 2007. I wouldn't trust whoever told you they were replaced 6 months ago

Are you just saying they look 10 years old or is there something specific that says 2007 to you?

Yes 10 years old by looking at the dirt and grease (white part of plug) on the spark plugs. I changed the sparkplugs on my 1991 a couple years ago. They were the original sparkplugs and over 20 years old. They looked a lot like yours.

I'd say David is probably pretty close. I wouldn't think anything less than 5 years unless the previous owner was doing something crazy with it on a regular basis. I've seen 3 year old plugs that were pretty close to that just due to hard use dirt wise.
