So everyone just lives with the way Ford Sync/Carplay is?

AH! I see what you're doing now. OK. Yeah, while I haven't tried to watch videos in this truck yet since we've only had it 3 weeks (Android Auto actually doesn't allow it by not permitting video apps from displaying through the Auto app), but I did try to do that kind of stuff before. I always noticed a bluetooth lag in my 2010 Infniti G37 and my wife's 2010 Mazda CX7 when I did try watching video on the phone but the audio through the car speakers. I just chalked it up to inherent lag over the bluetooth connection and not the fault of the vehicle.

So what you end up having to do is wake up the phone, watch the video on the phone display but have the audio go through the truck speakers via the bluetooth connection.

In the glory days (7 years ago) before bluetooth got really good and was in every car, I used to watch downloaded YouTube videos on the phone screen for my daily commute in my 2004 F150. There was no delay through that AUX port.

I think OP is doing this, and this is where he's seeing the out-of-sync audio.

Just the audio comes through the truck, the video is on your phone.
Music matters because there is a slight delay when skipping tracks. Goes much faster through CarPlay compared to Bluetooth.
I find it weird no one has ever watched a video on their phone in their truck, whether during lunch break, waiting to pick someone up, waiting a drivethru, etc.

The OP might need to check and see if his Sync has an update that needs installed.
The Blu-tooth on my 14 works well, When I'm sitting around waiting in my truck there is no issue watching videos on my phone and the sound being synced up. I don't have Car Play or Android Auto on my Sync2, Android Auto works really well on my 16 Golf but you cannot watch videos on either it is part of the safety they incorporated into those programs for using your phone while driving. The voice commands are easier to use with AA or CP.

Not sure if this helps, but my 2015 w/ Sync 2 doesn't have the lag, but my wife's honda civic does. So whoever said it's not a wired connection it will have lag is wrong. Plenty of bluetooth devices without lag

I have an aftermarket Kenwood reciever with BT. When I watch a video on my Iphone and the audio on the Kenwood, there is also a delay. Just FYI for another data point with aftermarket equipment.
