thanks guys... the snow cyclone is actually kinda cool until it does freeze onto the back window. i went looking at boxes tonight at tractor supply. none of the small in-bed boxes had any hardware or way to lock into the bed. the rest were across the bed types which at first seemed like overkill but now am thinking are less likely to go walking in the night. a few of the blocks in my neighborhood are high break-in areas. i actually heard a couple people have actually had the tailgates taken off right in the street.

Leave it. It just piles in nicely with my bags of weight, and with those in anyway, it doesn't exactly rob much bed space. I still have about half my bed on top of it to use. If I need as much room as possible, I'd shovel as much as I could out. Or if it piled too high, I'd shovel so much out.

Its not gonna add much weight, especially compared to the load of rocks, but hey what's a few more pounds
