smoking rear brake....help!!

Default smoking rear brake....help!!

i have an 05 ext.cab... my brakes started squeeking so i took it to the shop i got all new rotors and pads put on it...$640 worth...it rode fine for the last month then i drove home...about 740 miles and wen i got here my driverside rear was smoking...so i took it to another shop...he said my e-brake was to tight...another 70 bucks that was fixed...or so i thought...two days later here i am again with a smoking brake...im going back to the shop in the morning...any ideas?? i no longer have drums either...all disc

The ebrakes are easily locked up. Do you use the ebrake alot. I did only when in carwashes and found everytime afterwards I would start to get some wheel hop going on and the rear wheels were hot. You can easily fix it by taking the rear rotor off and greasing everything up. If it moves lube it.

Next time you use the ebrake and release it get under the rig and check the "ear" that is on the inside of backing plate. If it is back it is locked you can knock it forward with a hammer to unlock it.

A frozen caliper piston or frozen caliper slides would be my thought
