Smog Pump useless on a 85?
When they do the emissions testing right?
If so my truck doesn't need to pass that anymore. The place I go to never looks under the hood anyways. So you think I should be good?
If not I can always just put it back on in about 5-10 minutes before going to inspection!

Yes, for emissions testing. Even if they don't look under the hood, if they do the sniffer test to measure nitrogen oxides your catalytic converter doesn't work as well to burn those off without the pump. If you need to keep the pump, removal and reinstallation isn't just a quick deal because you also have to plug the ports where the tubes go into the head(s) and plug the hole where the tubes connect to the cat.

Thanks for going into detail. I will take this into consideration.
