Should i trade 2012 lariat for 2013 lariat?

I know it sounds crazy but that is what I really want to know. My driver door rattles and they haven't been able to fix it. 1 year, 12K miles, and 4 visits to dealer and it still rattles over bumps.

So, they will order me identical truck 2013 and I pay $5K when it arrives. Sounds OK? I think? Or are they going to send it back to Ford and I end up giving up $5K I don't have too? I can't picture Ford giving me a 2013 for no money? can you?

Meh, your money and your truck, why not lol. If "you" are unhappy with your truck, trade her in! you are ultimately the one who drives it and has to listen to the rattle

^ ditto

5 grand sounds like a lot, but considering how much vehicles depreciate it's not so bad. If you've got the $ and no one to answer to, go for it! :) Maybe you can get some upgrades thrown in (HIDs, tonneau cover, etc.).

Another way to look at it is that you got to lease the 2012 for a year at just over $400 per year - don't know if that is good or bad where you are.

Check your states lemon laws before you make a decision. Seems to me like after multiple trips to the dealer and being without your truck while they try to fix it, paying $5k for the same truck one year newer isn't something I'd be interested in.

Well, you had it for a year, and put 12k worth of miles on it. So your 5k isn't for nothing there. Any different options on the '13? HIDS, etc?

I don't believe rattles fall under the lemon law.

The deal sounds pretty good, essentially costing you just over $400 a month for your truck. That's not too bad.

KILOFINAL 11-16-2012 08:57 PM

As others have said, not a bad deal considering it works out to about $400 a month while you had it.

Might be a long shot, but have they replaced the entire door yet?

Do it!
