Default Should I or shouldnt I

Ok so I currently have a sweet 2008 FX4 Screw that I love with only 31,000 miles, but my friend works at the local Ford dealer and he tells me that he can get me into a new 2012 FX4 Screw with the ecoboost, and with comparable options of what my 2008 that I ordered the way I wanted it. He also said that he should be able to keep my payment about the same! So should I up grade or not what do you think?

Your payment might be the same, but you will be starting over with 0 equity in the truck, or nearly 0.

Paid off is a wonderful thing.

Never buy based on payment. If you want a new truck then that's absolutely understandable but from a financial standpoint it is a terrible decision

You've got an 08 that you have the options you want, it probably has the redesigned heads so no spark plug issues, and if you keep up with the maintenance the trans and motor are pretty solid. The Eco has had a few bugs with overheating and cutting out. Look at those things along with overall finances, don't get caught up in just the monthly payment, and make a decision based on that.

Keep the 08, of course all of us would love new, but if you love what you have already so waiver from that.

I'd think about it hard, only so many miles you can drive around Hawaii to justify a new truck!!

I did 1100 miles on a 10 day vacation on Maui and the big island. You can rack up miles if you try.
