Default Should I powdercoat?

Got a question, please give me some feedback!

I want to EVENTUALLY de-chrome my truck so i was thinking, to save a lil money, just powdercoat my wheels black and then PTM my from and rear bumper (unless i rhino-line it) ....but should i just fork out $500 or so for the people to powdercoat my wheels are buy a new set of black wheels?

Here are my wheels:

When I had my rear bumper powder coated I got a quote for having 4 wheels done. In the end it came out to $55 a wheel (recently check with the guy and prices haven't gone up) so I think $500 to have the wheels powdercoated is excessive. Also had a friend check out a Linex quote for me on wheels. Got quoted $40 a wheel for those.

Now this isn't going to do you any good for your wheels but Eastwood sells powder coating kits for smaller parts.

Be sure to watch the videos. Once you see these videos you will have a better idea if you are getting ripped off.

This is correct but the de-chroming process either sandblasting or electrolytically is very unsatisfactory. You are better off big time purchasing wheels that are not chromed, and ready for powder coating.
