You could ask your friend to check the history before he gets the truck. Could save you, and him in the long run. Also, if the truck is under 3years/36k miles you can get the extended warranty. Over that, and you're out of luck. Hope it all works out for you.

Maybe off msrp but not off of what the buy price would be.

But to your question...the ecoboost will be a great truck. Most have no problems just like the 5.0.

I was in the same spot. I was actually working a deal at one dealership on a very low mileage 2011 when I went into another and talked to the salesman about a new one. Turns out due to a much lower interest rate a brand new 13 with a 7yr 125k $50 deductible warranty is costing me $20/mo more

Don't look at $xxx per month, look at the total $ you will be spending. The per month $ is the biggest trick in a dealerships book to get you to spend more than you are willing or should be.

That's the ticket!

Dins, seems like a good way to get ye Ecoboost. I'd definitely put that RX catch can on it. I've done a lot of research on them, and it seems they can really help.

This depends on the situation. $1000 is roughly $20 per month on a vehicle loan. The difference of $20-40 per month if you can swing it for new with full warantee vs used might be the better choice.

Agreed, I think you misunderstood my statement. Don't look at your monthly payment price, look at the overall price of a vehicle.

If you have to worry about the monthly payment or if your payment is more than 36 month loan. You might think of a used vehicle for a while and save up during that period to buy the next one cash. Don't ever over extend yourself on a depreciating asset.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm looking at it this way, bottom line is I'm spending 10,000 dollars less then an amazing deal on a new f150, and should have a good vehicle that will last me 6-10 years.
