Default Sending directions to my truck

Hi all,
so we're road tripping in the next week and I'd like to send my route to my truck in advance instead of using the on board Navigation every time. I've got a '17 f150 screw with sync 3. I use iOS devices but we're out of country and don't want to pay roaming charges for cell data to you my device on the road. I've scoured the web for solutions but to no avail. Has anyone got any suggestions or solutions or work arounds that might work?

The FordPass app is useless for this kinda thing.

many thanks!

It’s an old and almost forgotten it’s printed on paper and once unfolded it’s very difficult to re-fold also causes a person to have to communicate with their better half it’s called a map

Do they still make and sell those? Since everyone has a phone with a map app....I haven't noticed maps at convenience stores, like in the old days.

Truck stops may carry them, I haven't notice any in the regular places like in the old days either.

With Google Maps one can download areas "offline" for future use. Appears you CAN tap into these maps with Sync 3.

Back a few years ago you could do that with mapquest.com but they took the feature away for some odd reason. The only way I know to do it nowadays is using sync services, keep in mind I think Ford is discontinuing services or already has.

I have an Android Based Samsung Tablet I can get directions on through WiFi and it works off the GPS all day long using Google Maps.
Don't know how many trucks stops you have, but Pilot/Flying J still sell Rand McNally Atlases.

send the route to your truck 'in advance'? How is the truck going to receive the directions if it's off/navigation is off? How is it going to discern which trip you want to take/what directions you want to use and when, and how is it going to store them?

That's why I passed on the $800 navigation system and bought a Garmin instead. Waterproof for mounting on the motorcycle, too. Lay out a route on BaseCamp on the computer and upload it. Lifetime map updates included with the GPS. Then afterwards, download the track to the map on the computer.

The way it use to work is it would actually send the info to your phone and when you get in the vehicle and the phone connects, the stereo will prompt you that a new route plan is ready to d/l.
