Selling truck. Worth it to replace tires?
I'm going to be selling my truck. It's got 56k miles and the original tires are at the end of their life. Is it worth it to replace them before selling or am I better off selling it like it is? In other words, if I put $800 worth of tires on it, is that going to bring me more than $800 more for the truck

Find a set of used tires on Craigslist. I found a decent set for $75, had about 10,000 - 15,000 miles. Cost another $50 to get them mounted and balanced.
If your Trading it in not a big deal. Dealership wouldn't give me any extra for my 35" Mickey Thompson's. They only go by Blue Book.
Selling Private I would talk someone down if I had to replace the tires.

Nope, save your money to use for the new purchase. On the last 3 vehicles I traded in, the dealerships never even looked at the tires or a single thing to see if the vehicle was mechanically sound. All they care about is the mileage and is the paint/body in good condition. The cleaner it is, the less they looked at it all together in my experiences. Clean it up, trade her in.

Depends. Are you selling it to a dealership, or a private party?

Definitely won't be trading it or selling it to the dealership. Last time I looked at trading it The dealer I was at made an offer that was so insulting I walked right then. Started at the lowest end of blue book trade value and then Started deducting $ for every tiny thing they found that was wrong. Wanted to knock off $350 to paint the inside of the bed even though the truck I was trying to buy had scratches inside the bed. Tried to knock off $150 because they "would have to have a tech spend a couple hours inspecting it" before they could put it on the lot. Basically tried to get me to pay for all of their "cost of doing business" stuff.

Here's another question
When I bought the truck I also bought a Ford premiumcare extended warranty out to 7 years and 125k miles. I still have 3 years, 9 months and 68k miles of warranty left. If you were buying would you be willing to pay a little extra for the warranty? I believe I can still cancel the remainder of the warranty and receive a prorated refund, which would probably be around $1500. Would you be willing to pay an extra $1500 to have a warranty out to 125k or would I be better off to cancel it?
