im sorry but i have had a seat belt save my *** a few times when i was younger me and my dad were rear ended and the cop said it was a good thing i had my seat belt on because i would have went through the window.

on my 16th birthday a coupek of buddies and me went out drive we took a drit road (TOTALLY SOBER) there as alot of sand on the road so my friend that was driving went to the other side of the road when we got around the coner there was an s-10 cming so he went back to his side where the sand was the sand took us into the ditch and when he tryed to pull us back out we caugh a rut and we ended up rolling i would hav been through out the passengers window if i wouldn't have had my seat belt on.

two weeks after that accident i had just got my 1993 4x4 ranger and went to try the 4x4 i pulled into a pit a bit to fast caught the soft sand and hit a bit out a sink hole with a nasty lip at the edge anyways the truck went over and guess what i would have been out the windsheild except i had my belt on.

i have nothing but good things to say about seat belts they have saved my life a couple times now and i make sure all my passengers have them on at all times unless moving around the yard a bit. please ppl if your on the road please wear your seat belt. i would rather have a nasty belt burn or a belt cut than be crushed by a vehical or thrown out a window or beingh decapitated. whats worth more your life or your comfort and a min of your time

Wow... I guess it did save your ***. I'm beginning to think you are related to Evil Knievel. No offense but you could just avoid driving like that. I love off roading and usually don't wear my seatbelt because it locks down on me. I also examin the type of terrain I'm driving in and drive accordingly. Turning too much and going a little fast will always turn the world upside down.

I just had to check this thread out because I was wondering why it went 4 pages over something that can be solved by reading the manual. Now I know.

Default how to disengage seatbelt reminder chime

For models 04 and up
https://www.f150forum.com/images/editor/menupop.gif
This entire process is straight out of the truck manual. This just saves time trying to find where in the book it is.

step 1: Turn on parking brake.

step 2: Make sure all doors are shut and turn on the truck (dont start the engine, just turn the key to "ON")

step 3: You will notice that all the truck status icons are lit up (air bag light, transmission light, seatbelt light, etc.) Now wait about 30 seconds to 1 minute, and the seatbelt light should turn off. When it does, buckle and then unbuckle the seatbelt 9 times. (this must be done within 50 seconds of the seatbelt light turning off).

step 4: immediately after you unbuckle the seatbelt the 9th time, the airbag light will come on for 3 seconds. When it comes on, buckle and then unbuckle your seatbelt 1 last time.

step 5: After you unbuckled the belt the last time, you should notice that the airbag light is blinks for 4 seconds. This tells you that the chime is now disabled.

This works for the individual front seats, meaning you you will have to do this procedure to both the driver and passenger seats if you want both of them gone.

However, I still strongly recommend that everyone wears their seatbelt, regardless if it chimes or not.

I always wear my seatbelt unless it's less than a mile that I'm driving but luckily for me the previous owner of my truck turned the seatbelt reminder off already so I never had to bother with it!

So I'm confused. Was it the seatbelt that saved your life or the sticker? How about the chime? Don't you think it was your own good common sense? I always wear my seatbelt. I buckle up before I turn the truck on. The first thing my kids do is put their belts on when they climb in. We all feel really wierd being in a vehicle and not buckled up. However I don't need a sticker to remind me to buckle up or tell me what could happen if I did. Pretty soon there will be stickers to remind people not to jump out of the truck while its moving because they could get a boo-boo. I'm one of those people who always wears a motorcycle helmet too. Lets get rid of the stickers and let Darwinism take over as it should be.
