SCT programmer 2011 F-150
 

Does anyone have a SCT programmer on their 2011 5.0 V8? Purchased one and waiting for it to arrive and just wondering how much hp is it going to give and trq as well, doesn't give this info on the SCT site? Thanks!!!

The SCT X3 unit is simply the method of uploading a tune, how well the truck performes is dependant on how good whomever writes your custom tune is. The SCT X3 #3015 series does come with canned generic SCT Tunes but they are VERY generic, a custom one written for your truck, usually about $50 to $75 if purchasing seperate, will make your truck perform MUCH better then a generic one.

Where did you buy your tuner? Most places will offer a free custom email tune along with purchase of a new unit.

Yeah there suppose to be 3 tunes that go along with the programmer as the dealer stated and it's just plug and play more/less, bought it in Quebec(beach area) from one of my buddy that sells performance parts/accessories. Suppose to be here today by mail or maybe early Monday Can' t wait to try it out!!

But the question is, are the 3 tunes from SCT or being custom made for your truck? Light and day difference. Did you have to give them your ECM code, year, make, model and mods to place you bought it from?

Called the guy after I seen your message and he told me that SCT is already set up for the 5.0 and you can make or create your own settings like shift points etc hopefully he is not bull******** me as I said to him there will be a phone call made if it doesn't work and guaranteed me I should be ok????

So you are right ranchi, the guy called and told me that this one won't fit my truck because it needed to be tuned for my truck from SCT...so it's a no go, damn what a let down. Now he tells me that maybe get one from hypertech or something??? Not sure what to do now!!
