There are those people who seem to constantly have accidents, ranging from stubbing their toe to tragedies. Others seem to skate through life without ever having anything bad happen to them.
The difference is that some people have learned and developed good skills at recognizing hazards and avoiding them, in many cases unconsciously. It's certainly a skill that can be learned and probably should be taught in schools, rather than just letting everyone learn the hard way. Many companies of course, have safety training for their employees that includes hazard recognition.
