Rusty rockers 2010 F150
I have to rant about this re-occurring problem. My brother has a 2009 super crew and said his cab corners are rusty.I didn't think too much about it because I have an extended cab but today I decided to crawl under the truck and look at it.What I found was disturbing and really pissed me off.The rock guard that is under the paint is bubbling because there is rust under it.I can actually poke my finger through the hole when I push on the bubble.there are numerous spots where this has occurred. Now we are talking about my 2010 F150 with 75000 miles on it .After investigating the design the problem is obvious.Ford designed the back of the rockers with holes in them and then covered the holes with tape that looks like black duct tape. Now anyone who has used duct tape in the elements knows that if it lasts a year you would be lucky( can you say designed to fail sells more trucks that way)I had a similar problem on my 2003 F150 4000 miles out of warranty and Fords rust warranty was it had to be on the outside of the vehicle and you needed to be able to poke your finger through it.I can just imagine what the aluminum 2015 is going to look like in a few years. As for me I have bought my last Ford pickup. So go out take a look at the rockers and cab corners and see what you find. Please post what you find because the only thing that will change substandard manufacturing is poor sales.A person will tell two people about a good experience but they will tell twenty about a bad experience.

Semper, start a thread in the appropriate year forum and you'll get more help. There is a broad base of knowledge here, but we need to know more before we can assist.
