I purchased the OEM floor mat and a WeatherTech tailgate cover. The WeatherTech tailgate cover did not require drilling to install.

That's precisely why I opted for the Bedtred Pro from Bedrug. It covers the entire bed, looks like a spray in and has a rubber like texture. You set something down on it and it ain't going no where unless it's top heavy and flips over on a curve if unsecured. It's also impervious so if any spills happen it can be washed right out. It's also removable and padded so it's easy on the knees if you happen to crawl up in there.

Sold my bedmat not long after I got it.

With my OEM tailgate protector there's no drilling. With the tailgate down you remove the access panel screws, put the protector in place and install the new access panel screws that come with the kit.

I'll have to remove mine in another month or 2 to install on my new truck along with the bed mat and bed extender.

If you want to save a few bucks, the DeeZee bed mat is almost identical in quality.

Another thing that works well is go to the local livestock supply and feed store. Here they carry the black rubber mats that you can put on the floor of horse trailers. These are 3/4 of an inch thick and come in several different sizes. You can cut em to fit with a power saw. Very heavy duty and I have used the same one on my 3rd F-150 now. They sell a lot of them to guys that use them as flooring in their weight lifting rooms too. They work very well in the bed of a truck.

I used to use a bed mat in the mid to late 90's . It never flew out and in 100,000 plus miles it only folded over few times. It stayed put at highway speeds.

it fits, just not flush on the sides.
I have Line-x spray in as well as the OEM mat, and it fits perfectly flush all around. Best of both worlds I’m my opinion, really saves those knees when you have to crawl around in there. As others have said, that thing is ridiculously heavy, a lot more than you’d think than by looking at it.
