I am looking at getting a rubbed bed mat, and I was wondering if they need to be stuck down at all? Will driving 85 on the freeway blow it out?

 

My OEM mat is so heavy there's no way it could blow out.

 

no, those things are so damn heavy, they arent going anywhere

 

As others have said, they are too heavy. Besides, you will probably want to take it out to pressure wash it at some point or clean the bed under it, assuming you haul any dirty stuff like dead animals, etc.

Love mine. Many don't have any protection for the tailgate. The ones I saw for the tailgate either required drilling or some kind of hook and loop fasteners. Never option appealing to me.

Same here. But I like that setup because the bed sides are better protected by the liner and stuff like heavy toolboxes can't slide around on the rubber mat like they would on the bedliner alone.

 

I bought a tailgate protector thingy that is part of a drop in bed liner. It helps to slide stuff in and out of the bed without scratching the tailgate. One thing I recently noticed is they went up about $20 since I bought mine 2.5 years ago.
