Default round convex mirror placement on side mirror

I have the blind spot information system on my truck but I really like having a small convex mirror on the side like those little round ones that you can stick on your regular mirror. I had them built in on my Escape, and I had a 3 inch round one stuck on the mirror on my old Ram. They help in backing, which I have to do in my driveway in order to get the truck into the side-facing garage. Yes, I have the rearview camera and it's helpful, but not as good at night as I would like.

The question is, where is the best place on the driver's side mirror to stick one? Obviously, I would like it to block as little of my mirror view as possible while still giving me visibility of what's beside me and where my rear tire is when I'm backing.

TIA.

I attached mine to the outside lowest corner on both mirrors.

I had a 2018 XLT loaner for a week...they have it built into the mirror glass. I do wonder if we can buy the 18 replacement glass to get the factory one built in....

Yep my 2016 has a large built-in blind spot mirror also.

On my other vehicles, i placed them on the upper outside corner.
Probably just a personal preference lower or upper but place on the outside of the mirror.

Thanks for the replies. I don't think I'd want it on the upper outside corner because it might block the blind spot lights. No use defeating them. I just like to be able to see more when backing, especially with the trailer, while keeping the main flat mirror intact. I see that there are a couple of related threads to read on this too.

AHH ok, i don't have the blind spot warning system on my lowly XLT.
But the stock built-in blind spot mirror on my truck is located in the upper outer corner.

Upper right is where it was on my Escape. On my old Ram, I put it on the lower outside IIRC.
