Rough Idle
Hello,
I have a 06 F-150 with a 5.4 triton. It ran great but the dealer recomended changing my plugs at 60K (I took it in for an airbag wire recall). He said it was a good idea since they tend to break off if you wait to long. I had the plugs changed and about two miles from the dealer it felt like my truck was running on five clylinders. I took it back and they said there was an issue with the plugs. They said they changed them out but now it has a rough idle, even at 1500 rpms its still a little rough. I took it back again and they charged me another $100 for a computer update. This also did not solve the problem, now it just revs up faster and sounds louder. I'm afraid to take it back again because I'm sure it's not going to get fixed and they will just charge me for something else.
With all that said I'm thinking about changing out the plugs and wires myself to see where that gets me. Does anyone have a better idea or can recommend the best plugs and wires?
Thanks, Jonathan
