I am hoping Custom Offsets starts getting them for their Fords. Always good to have more options in the coilover department.

Hello Jhous3s.. Well I finally installed the matching rear shocks.. Have to say super soft ride now with all the settings set at 1 on the dial. Setting 5 to 8 is firm and feels tight on the highway buy then reality hits you when you are on a bumpy side street..

Setting 4 feels like the oem shock with the spacer..

I settled for setting 1 all around. super mushy and new tires i put on help greatly.. general grabber at3... super quite and no vibration or hum . softer ride. 38 psi

The back rides so much better than the Fox 2.0 I had on it.. now the wheel bump , harsh bump is greatly reduced..

Is it worth the money.,.. yes.. how long they will last i cant say.. lol. but for as long as the do I am 100 % satisfied..

Now the ride is soft for all ,, Now all I here is my stupid plastic door panels creaking and moaning over the bumps..

The one thing i did not like was that the reservoir tube diameter was super close to the bed box section on the driver side..passenger side is okay no issues
If you look at the rear wheel well by the shock mount you see the square box tube that extends under the bed to the outer sides. When the rear compresses the shock pivots up.

The bed box section is thin aluminum and can easily just be notched to make sure it never hits,,I tow my kids quads and buggy's so i was **** and worried that under full load it might touch.. so I just modified that small square edge.,. I didn't want it to hit when i towed and hit a bump

I took a small tin snipe and it cut like butter and just notched the corner. on the lower right side at a 45 degree angle,, it wont rust and you never see it.. I also have the ford oem wheel well liners so a quick hit with the dremel tool and they cleared also.. took a whole 10 minutes to do..

I will take a picture and post..

Are they worth it yes...

buy when you really think about it we spend how much for a lift ,,, then it rides like poop over bumps and then we spend big $$$ on shocks.. lol.. Its a sickness..

Anyone done the Rough Country Vertex coilovers on top of a BDS kit? Will that work - any pro's / con's?

I have RC 6" with the 6" lift struts and the RC N2.0 on the rear. I am running 35" MT PZ3's and find I need more ground clearance off road. I am thinking of getting the Vertex front struts and putting a 1.5" spacer on top. That should give a little more clearance under the drop bracket in front. And I should be able to fit 37"s in the future if i so desire. For the rear I am thinking of going with the Fox 2.0 performance with reservoir shocks. They are about half the price of the rear vertex.

In the above post, it is mentioned that you went from Fox 2.0 to vertex in the rear, were these the standard 2.0 w/o the reservoir? Or did they have the reservoir? I am curious as to how the two will compare.

Hello all.. The vertex shocks have an assembly mount that is held in place by three screws no studs.... I dont think you can get a space on top of it. I will look at mine tonight,. I have a 6" pro comp lift and have to say that the vertex shocks are huge length wise. It pushes the 6" lift angles pretty good but no OMG.. to go any larger on a 6" you are asking for trouble. When you see the car on truck a lift you can see how far the vertex extend. Any more and you will have cv issues in my opinion.. . I also have aftermarket upper and lower control arms.. I didn't like the small oem lower ball joint.. So I went aftermarket.

I have tried numerous of shocks on my truck, The wife saw all the bills and was like WTF.. lol I tried everything to soften up the rear harshness for street driving..I had the the 2.0 non reservoir. At the time of my like I didn't see a 6" fox adjustable rear shock . The vertex were better than stock but still had the harshness..

The Vertex were 899 for a set . Once again they came with no instructions.. Have to say mounting them they are huge in size compared to the fox and when looking at the stock oem the oem look pity full puny. I took a chance with the vertex shocks front and rear .. So far so good

Compared to the stock shock and also the fox 2.0, the Vertex set on soft setting 1 to 3 has a way better street ride for me.. No more crazy jolts.. The one thing about the vertex is that there mounting system has eyelet swivels . The fox are rubber bushings with a spacer tube.. The vertex when compressed all for minor misalignment in the truck. So i went with these. I build buggy's and sand rails for fun and these have the same shock eyelet setups.

I have to say that so far they have held up extremely well for street driving. I am in NY.. so no off road really yet. I have hit some terrible street roads and they did pretty damn good with pot holes and bumps. My truck isn't an off road demon.. Its a daily driver.. I have had it for 3 years on the pro comp . So far this is the best the ride has been. Also I went with new tires after the install .. I switched away from the Baja ATz and went with with the new General At3 all terrain. That alone mad the ride totally different.. Smooth , no more humming.. No more bad balancing or road wander.

Drop bracket?.. Do you mean the front crash bars?..

Eric, thanks for the detailed response! By "drop bracket", I am referring to the lower crossmember that is used when dropping the front differential when installing a 6" lift.
