Any way you can get a pin out diagram for the connection on the screen itself? Sounds like moving the power would actually prevent the thing from even powering on.

Wish I had some more free time so I could try to help with the hands on research here.

I gave Steve all the diagrams I had and one of them is the pin out for the screen connector.

wish i had a buddy that could borrow ford scanner....after research and testing wires, i believe with the wire changes its still a reflash to the 14's file for the display to be active..

Where can I get these diagrams? If I keep my truck I'd love to do this, if it works. Also would like to throw in a manual switch for the camera.

I was wondering that same thing. The screen in the mirror is only handling one video feed whereas the 4.2" display would need some way to switch feeds. I'm interested in seeing the program that Ford uses. Any of you know what program language it's written in? Wondering if it's similar to the function block diagrams and ladder logic I use at work.

Lol. Sorry about that. A little over a year ago I started working with programming control systems. I guess I'm starting to get the itch to dig into other systems. I agree though, access to the file and a means to flash would be the easiest route.

No idea what programming language but with a 14 vin# I can download as built data and force feed it into the system with IDS.

Problem is knowing exactly what line to change, there's a bunch of lines of data for each vehicle and everyone of them is specific to the hdwr per vin#. Messing with the wrong line could cause system failure.

When I get home this afternoon I'll copy and paste the as built code for my truck here, maybe someone can figure out what to change. It's my understanding the code can be changed by opening it in a spreadsheet and saving to the folder that IDS looks to when programming.
