I would suggest cutting and soldering in connectors made to carry shielding. Female and male positronic connectors. Im not sure how many other connector types out there but that is one. May have others that could work as well.

Im like you, dont have the stomach to cut my factory harness. Any way to replace the entire harness with a 14 model? Keep in mind I have no idea were the harness starts from.

Thanks for all of your research thus far.

Oops, I thought you had 2 harnesses or something. If you could find a similar header to the one on the monitor you could make an "extension" harness only wire it the way you wanted.

Yeah like the adapter harness others were making for the 2013 HID/Halogen swap, I have that on my truck and it makes it plug-n-play, would still have to splice and dice the camera harness.

got to open the dash today...my plug is not like rnl posted. also my pwr is already on pin 1..looked at the info he sent me...

going off my mirror wires i was just going to extend them down to the new screen and have both if needed by not destroying the harness....

so pin 12 to 1 was already done for me...

used pin 3 as the sheet says camera vpm19 and pin9 camera rmp19 matched to the2013....didnt work... now to go and try pins 6 and 12...
12 pin -ctrl mod-dvd vid -
6 pin- ctrl mod- dvd vid +..
this didn't work either... may have something to do with navigation or this ctrl mod thats listed in the diagrams.....
all back together and still works as it did before, no factory smoke released...lol
gonna keep looking...for now some pics of the dash apart...

When looking at the connector you should compare the release tab location and as if you were looking straight at the end of the connector, not the back side.

The power wire is on pin 12, it details that in the wiring diagram for the 13 F150 but is on pin 1 on the 14 F150 and 14 Escape.

The pinout chart I gave you shows it, connector 2123.

Either my eyes are getting worse or we have different connectors for the display, when I flipped mine around, the pin hole was not labeled like yours is.

Mine also only had 4 wires in it.

Hmm....

My build date is 12/12, your connector looks identical to mine I just don't remember seeing the #'s on the end like yours.

Looking at the 13 wiring diagram however it clearly shows the power wire on pin 12.
