nope, dome lights would turn on when you put it in reverse. Use a diode

How do diodes work. I know GM vehicles have their reverse light on when you unlock them. ??

diodes are one-way valves for electricity. They would allow your dome light to turn on the reverse lights, but then stop any elecricity from reverse lights that tries to illuminate your cab. and I'd recommend using a relay too, from the dome lights leading to the diode, then reverse lights. That way your dome light circuit isn't powering more circuits than it safely should. I also just like relays. hahaha

not too sure how the perimeter lights work though, they may just be all computer controlled

edit: actually, relays may diode for you. not sure...

wait your truck is new enough, it should have perimeter lighting... Check through your dash display and turn it on. I know you'd have it, my buddy has the same truck and had to disable his perimeter lights. Just tie the reverse lead of the light bar directly to the reverse light behind one of the taillights. it will come on with your stock perimeter lights
