Default Looking for some input on purchasing a very high mileage 2013

Hey all, I've been looking at purchasing a second vehicle.

I currently have a daily and just want to buy a cheap used f150. It won't be driven as a daily for the most part, just want to have the option of having a truck again.

I came across this listing and was hoping to see what you guys thought. Aside from a front-end accident from hitting a parked car, the carfax looks very clean and looks like it was religiously serviced.

Thanks guys!

what happened to your 2016?

im not afraid of miles if I can determine that I think it’s been properly maintained. I like to talk with actual owner (so prefer private party vs dealer), so would take any info the dealer verbally says with a grain of salt, especially statements about the extent of prior accident damage.

I’d have a independent mechanic look at it on a lift, and check for accident damage/repairs and/or for any significant structural rust issues.

I’ve not yet had a 5.0 or 6sp but hear good reports about both.

after the multiple problems I had with the 2016. It ended up better just trading it in. The dealer I traded it in to payed over what I owed, and I ended up leasing a car for my daily. It works out since I'm a field tech and I drive a lot, now my daily gets like 30mpg. Still want to get another F150 eventually, that's why I'm currently looking for cheap used trucks. As for talking to the owner, it might be hard to talk to the owner since this is through a dealer. The only way I know of its history is from the carfax.

I had a 2013...good solid truck!!!
From the ad it looks like decent.

Biggest factor is engine and the listing shows it having a 5.0 which to me is the only engine I would buy in that year.
(if it had the 3.5 eco I would say run)

yes. I understand/agree. I just meant, that’s a con for dealer deals and pro for private party deals.

good luck and post back with what you decide/learn.

Just goes to show how crazy the market is now, that they're even advertising this truck. Normally with that kind of mileage it would be sent straight to auction at a bigger dealership like this.

agreed, but I think for the price I don't think it's a terrible deal. Except for the really high miles.

I pull the carfax on that car and the first two owners took it to the dealer every 5k miles like clockwork!

Dealer responded to my inquiry and said there is a good deal of rust. Enough that when he opened the door rust came off.

Guess I will continue my search elsewhere.
