"Respect" for the truck versus the car on the road

Definitely notice a difference. I drove a Camry for a few years before I got my truck. I get nothing now.
also if you have a bigger hitch in the receiver, the small cars stay farther away
Now the real issue is driving with trailers... Absolutely no respect. Yeah, go ahead and tailgate the guy with 3 tons of scrap steel buckets on his trailer.
But I am from idiotafornia...

I got cut off in CA no matter what I drove. People in Texas seem a lot more laid back, even when I make stupid mistakes on occasion I never get flashing lights or horn and finger, I just give them the sorry wave.
No one knows how to drive in the big cities though. I was listening to the radio and they said something along the lines of:
"The left lane is for traffic moving faster than you, so move over if someone is coming up behind you, if you're going 75 and someone is coming up, you're going too slow. If you're going 100 mph and someone is coming up behind you, you're going too slow, move the **** over."
I don't condone going 100 mph though.
After driving on the I-10 a few times back and forth between CA and Texas I learned to keep right unless passing.
A lot of people drive trucks though so, there's always a bigger fish lol, a lot of the times I'm smaller than a lot of the trucks.
After driving with a trailer I now know to give them room, I guess people just need to be put in the scenarios, to get the experience. That would change the way they drive.

Whats blatantly obvious around here is the complete lack of respect for anyone else on the road from other drivers no matter what you drive. If they want to be in your lane they will whether youre in it or not, if they wasnt to be in front of you they will pull right out now matter how fast youre coming up on them. They want to keep there brights on at night? Sure.. who cares about anyone else.

Is it just me or do others notice traffic has more "respect" for a truck than for a car on the roads? When I bought my F150 it was a switch from a sedan, and I notice without doubt that other vehicles on the road have vastly more respect, perhaps for the tonnage of the F150 than I saw in my car.
I just attribute it to the fear of an F150 ramming them versus a car!

It doesn't scare the folks around Southern Ontario. In fact, they seem to want to play chicken with my F-150 as I'm barreling down on them at 130klm on a major highway. It's particularly bad in the rich neighborhoods.

I wonder how different it gets with just a little bit of lift and bigger tires. Probably helps a lot. Until you slap a large trailer on there and you're back to zero road respect. Haha

If ya'll think that people stay out of the way of a F-150, then try it in a F-250/350. When I drive either one of the superduty's people in the other lane tend to ride the white line. At night its even funnier because they think there is a 18 wheeler coming at them.lol

Dodge+Ford = always ready
with my f150 cars more often then not stayed away from me or didn't try to cut me off. with the f250 they stay clear of me all together, especially with a 25 ft trailer behind me.
