I think you're right. GM doesn't have any that really compare.
I've been lusting after something like Ruby Red for 20 years. But my father-in-law and brother-in-law were long time GM employees, so my wife insisted we stay with GM and take the family discount. I have to admit, it was hard saying no to the discount. Unfortunately, they have both passed away, and she is now my ex-wife. So she no longer has a say, and I certainly don't have any GM discount eligibility any more.
But the good news is that it's now a level playing field between brands, and I finally got my Ruby Red truck.

Congrats Dustin. It should serve you well. When I went looking for a new truck in '97 I drove the V6 with the 5 speed. Driving through Charlotte, NC with a manual reminded me how much I didn't want a manual.

Thanks. Yea manual can get annoying sometimes, but I prefer it over automatic most of the time. How are they on gas? It's not getting registered til Tuesday so I haven't had a chance to drive it more than getting it home.

Not real sure Dustin. I bought the 4.6L w/auto in the Regular Cab. It did around 16.5 city, and 21 highway. I would expect with your set-up, and the bed cap you should get close to that. It all depends on the right foot.
