Default New to F150s... couple questions

New guy from Texas here... just purchased my first Ford truck ever. Im typically a GMC guy at heart but unlike most never had anything against fords just raised on gmc so i stuck with what i knew. Traded in a pretty Bad**s sierra for this truck today. Just picked up a 2013 Platinum with 17k miles on it Ecoboost V6. Wouldnt say ive got buyers remorse or anything but this is definitely a change and im a bit nervous... I guess a few things Id like to jump right into would be this...

1. What can I expect as far as durability of the Ford trucks? I have been around a few of my friends and they never seem to have many issues so im hoping this does the same. I have power running boards and idk why but i can see those failing prematurely simply do to how much they have to work everytime a door is opened. any issues from more experienced users on that? Also the ecoboost engine... so far I have enjoyed it but only having had it for 24 hours or so now i cant say much. My question here becomes longevity... twin turbos on a v6 is a great idea in my opinon but are there any known issues witht turbos going out on these engines? just hard to see them lasting 150k miles without issues on the turbo side...

2. Interior question here and ill start posting in the acutal forums when i have a question but... I have heated and cooled leather seats on this truck. Now maybe ive just seen a bunch of lemons or something but it seems to me that every ford truck I have taken a ride in the leather on the seats always seems very faded and cracked and sometimes even bleached compared to other trucks ive owned with similar usage/mileage. Even some on the dealer lots seem to have this issue and i guess i just chalked it up to Fords leather not being quite as "premium" as others... No idea if its true or not like I said but Is this a common issue or is it just something ive run into by coincidence? Im pretty good about vehicle care but I definitely dont want faded or bleached leather seats on a nice truck like this.

Ill stop there for now and anything further I will post in the correct category but these would be my main 2 questions off the top of my head right now. Thank you all for your time and hope to hear from you guys!

Nice truck. I own both a Silverado and F150. There are pros and cons to each. The F150 seems a bit more solid. I prefer the Chevy tilt wheel. IMO most ratted out leather seats is because of a lack of cleaning and moisturizing.

Your grille looks like the base XLT grille from 09-12. Not the platinum grille. I would wonder what happened to it

the grille doesnt bother me ... but i didnt know there was a different one for the platinums. So far truck is running well and im enjoying it especially the in town mileage over my 5.3 sierra. Anyone have any tips on cheap sites to order aftermarket parts for this truck? Id like to do some halo lights and put some bilsteins on at the minimum.. and MAYBE level the front end.

Take reasonable care of the leather and you won't have an issue. I have 120,000+ miles on my 2010 and the leather looks almost new, other than the hole I put in the driver's seat with my concealed carry holster.

Great looking truck. The grill threw me a little, but to each his own. The truck should serve you well. The Platinum is a comfortable truck. Welcome, and congrats.

If the leather looks crummy its because it hasn't been properly maintained. I checked out a Plat inside the showroom and that leather looked immaculate and made me envious.
Did you check out the '14 sierras? Some of them I really like.

Grats on new truck! Very nice!

I too am wondering about the grill. Never seen a Platinum with that and just look at the Ford site (build & price link) to see what is comes with standard. Not a huge deal but curious what the dealership has to say about it.
