Default Rear defrost wont work

Had truck in 5 times already.. they still cant even fix a rear defrost. At first the light wouldnt even come on when the button was pushed, they changed the dash module. Light still wouldn't come on so they then changed the trucks PCM and HVAC and now the light will come on when button is pushed, but the defrost still isn't heating up! Does anyone else have a 2011 with the same problem

Yep, you need a new rear window! It's a known problem. Took my dealer 7 weeks to get it approved by ford and scheduled with the glass company.

I would be careful about using the rear defrost. Many have had the rear glass explode

Not sure if there is a TSB but they knew exactly what it was after they checked the switch/button and there was power going to the glass

Oh ok. Hmm now to decide if it's worth getting fixed.. Because I know for sure if the dealership replaces the window I will get even more issues with my truck because they always seem to screw something else up when fixing my truck. So does ford get an actual glass repair shop to change out the window?

My dealer scheduled an auto glass repair company to come to the dealer and replace it.

Same dilemma here, plus I am out of warranty. I got the rear defrost and power mirror for a reason. But do I want to spend $$ and have the chance they mess up? The light on the dash does not even come on, worked fine the first 2 winters.

Hi Russ,

Did your dealer get to diagnose your concern? Please send me more information including your odometer reading so I may assess what the next step is.
