The electric brake depends on the engine - my 3.5 NA has it. I asked about servicing electric calipers, found info, and replied to my self in this thread:

49K miles on it right now, and I've never had brakes wear that fast. I'm not one of those that gasses it to the last second, then jam on the brakes. I've actually had brakes last into the 74K+/- range.
My first thought was the traction control could be the cause, but have only seen the warning light a couple times.
Any one else with this going on, or have had it happen?
If you trust that Quick Lane, then there is a question or two that you can think about. I have noticed on my '17 with ACC that when we crest a hill on ACC and start down, the ACC applies the brakes. I wonder if it does so evenly or just the rears as it might be using the electronic brake available there. I don't know a thing just thinking, listening, observing, and worrying.

Hmm, on my '17, I don't have ACC. I do know the trans will downshift though, pretty sure on mine it doesn't use the brakes, that could depend on far over set speed you are.

I have no clue. I discovered the brake application by accident one foggy night and wondered who the heck was shining all that red light behind me every time we crested a hill. I am a dummy and decided to figure out who was giving me a hard time. A little watching and I realized it was in time with the feeling of deceleration I normally associate with brake application and I always noticed a reduction in speed. Ford is/was giving me a hard time. As soon as I have time, the dealership and I will have a conversation about this - both because it is weird and because of the potential for unneeded brake wear. But then again *I* am SPECIAL!

Gotcha, my 3.5 Ego has the old fashioned pedal.

I'd bet that's irritating to anyone behind you. Looks like I'm going to have to get in some bighills here and see if mine does the same. Like you, I won't be favorably impressed if it does. Seems like Ford went the way of sloppy drivers, using the brakes instead of trans to slow down. I guess in a little truck it's alright, but I never thought too much of a big truck hitting the brakes on a downhill, except rarely. Brakes are to stop with, not slowdown, within reason of course.

2015 f150 4x4 rear replaced at 12k, 27k and 63k. Master cylinder replaced at 27k. Ford dealer has no idea why they are wearing out to fast.

My rears on my 15 wore out at 29,000. Rears were 2mm but fronts were still 8mm I tow a lot. Probably 20,000 of that was towing a trailer that is 2500 unloaded and 6-7000 loaded. Maybe that has something to do with it, I don't know. I replaced them with Wearever "Frontline" pads which are heavy duty pads intended for police use and heavy towing. We'll see how long they last. Not really a big deal if I need a set of $25 rear pads every 30k miles.

My escape does this too, Ford says the rears just go earlier than the fronts for some reason in Ford's
