Ford has been hammered lately with bad product rollouts (e.g. Explorer) and managment shakeups. Does any of this affect your expectations for the new F150 and will it affect your decision to purchase the new model?

My opinion, based on pics, is that the new model will not significantly depart from the current model and, therefore, is likely to be a more reliable first year vehicle as compared to the current generation’s first year. As long as there aren’t reported fowl ups with the introduction, I wouldn’t have any problems buying a new one. That’s based on my current 2015 (Lariat 5.0) that had some hiccups but has mostly been a decent vehicle at 112,000 miles.

None of the issues with FoMoCo are too worrisome for me presently as all manufacturers have gone through ups and downs and thus won't affect my future purchase decisions. They still have a strong balance sheet and are no where near the death throes that Chrysler went through which led to their sell-out to Fiat.

I don't like that they abandoned the US car market (other than the Mustang) as they are simply walking away from money, which I think someday they will come to regret that decision and reenter the market, just as what happened with the Ranger (discontinued in the US market in 2011 but revived in 2018).

In my honest opinion Ford is still doing better than Chrysler and GM. The Dodge dealers are sitting on a whole lot of extra vehicles that are overstock and GM is losing market share in the Asian and Australian markets. Holden is done after this year in Australia and Factories are being sold in China.
I still think it is kind of funny when you go on strike and hurt your own selves since Obama gave the Unions GM in the Bankruptcy.
Ford came out and fixed the Explore/Aviator or bought them back and the people I know that have either is praising the vehicle and say Ford hit a home run taking it back to rear wheel drive. As for the front office, that goes on all the time.
