Rare Tail Light on my 2001 Styleside
Anyone run into this: the reverse light is at the top. The replacement fits the truck fine BUT the brake light socket fits but not the reverse light socket.
Every single replacement i see online are all the same. My truck was built in Nov. 00 but 2000 models are the same as '01
Should i just change out the socket or am i overlooking something obvious?
Was my bed replaced along the way? Maybe this bed came off a different truck altogether......?

Thanks a ton! I wonder if the entire bed is from an '08 since the socket matches.
The dash doesn't line up properly so i've wondered if it was in a collision before...that might explain some things.

Now an XLT in Colorado
The SD taillight upgrade is a common one for the 10th gens.
P.S. I suggest you check out the 97-03 Section for questions on your '01.

yep
I guess you're right - bed looks original
some big lady tried to turn her brand new minivan through my bumper into a tiny parking space and scraped my tail light
it's hardly noticeable but i got $400 from her insurance - her car suffered quite a bit more, i have no idea wth she was thinking
guess i'll just keep them

Definitely a 97-03 F150 bed. That’s not a superduty.
