I would like to see the chassis of the Raptor, im pretty sure its completely different, But theres lots of after market F 150 Pre Runner kits that are probably better than the raptor but costly!

I currently have icon shocks all the way around and I would like to change just the rears out to the raptor shocks. Anyone see a problem in doing so? I'm hoping it might provide a smoother ride since they are bypass shocks. The icon are a bit too stiff.

change the valving on the icons. just because they are bypass doest mean they will be softer...i don't know what the valving rates are on your icons or the raptors but because they are bypass normally just means that they should have less fade under use than a non-bypass

I was under the impression that bypass shocks should have different degrees of resistance. Less when they are fully extended and more as they compress. Piggyback or remote reservoir would be like you said.

yeah you right...i kind of read over it too fast and took for granted that bypass shocks always (that i have seen) have resi's. bypass shocks are some big money though, i still think the best thing to do would be to get a nice set of fox's custom valved...thats what i would like to do.

I don't know if you have attempted to change out your rear shocks for the raptors, but they will fit. Check out my link below for how they will look. Rides Great!

If anyone is interested in my Raptors rear Fox shox I might be upgrading. Also possibly upgrading the fronts as well. The nice thing about upgrading from the Stock f-150 shock is the Fox's are they can be rebuilt.

If anyone is interested shoot me a pm and we can go from there. The shocks are in perfect condition. If I was to get rid of the fronts they would more than likely come with everything. Spings, Coilovers, strut mount. My fronts are also on the middle perch setting.

Let me know

My boss has a new 2013 raptor. We did some simple measuring on his shocks and connections to my 05 Lariat. His upper control are was a tad wider, and lower had a different connection point. His is recessed in the arm, where as min has the connection on top of the arm. I think i would fit with no modifications.

I recently took my Raptor shocks to get serviced before installing them on my
two wheel drive 2010 XLT. I went to D,C. Service Shocks in San Dimas Ca..
While I was there Kurt had been working on a pair like mine. He had them apart. I was able to have a look inside and see the spring ring. Kurt was informative and his shop is organized and clean. I asked if he could do the install and he said yes. It made sense because he worked with schocks every day.
Yes he removed my stock shocks which had a 2" lift on them, also removed my wheel spacers, I did not need either. When he installed the Raptor uca and lca and raptor tie rods and end links I didn't need them anymore. I had already changed my fenders with oem raptor fenders. I did not need the raptor spindels. The ride is smooth and major inprovement. He also installed a raptor sway bar. He changed my brake lines to steel wraped and the were 3" longer.
He welded a bracket that utilized a better position for the brake lines.
I had collected the suspension parts over a few months and thought I should
service the shocks before installing. Kurt gets shocks mailed to him all over
the U.S.. kurt is a off road truck person and has fair prices. My truck is a bit
higher even without the 2"lift. It is a narly inprovement not just in looks but the ride is wicked. D.C. Shock Service 626 252-3566 I will post pics later.
