Raptor or HD f-250
Just seeing if y'all are biased or not...
Here within the next year I'll be looking for another truck. What I'm wondering is which way would y'all lean?
If I go raptor it will be 4 door and more than likely 37's.
Now on the HD F250 it will also have a lift and 37-38's with the 6.0, things will get changes like the deletes and head studs so I won't encounter the problems people have had and talked about.
It'll be an '07 or newer
I'm personally leaning more towards the f250 because it will tow more and will probably drag the Harley to the track and the big truck to some runs...
Sooo let me hear your opinions on the matter guys?

I would say if you tow more go with the F250 I personally think they are badass trucks. I just wish I could justify the price of one with a diesel cause that's the only way to go.

Yup pretty much what he said! ^
Sounds like you don't have much use for the raptor where the F250 could see some use.
Just gotta decide if you want Utility vehicle or Play vehicle

You're kinda talking about opposite ends of the spectrum.
With only a 5.5' bed, the Raptor isn't gonna do 1/3rd of what an F250 can do, even with only a 6.5' bed.
If OTOH, you plan on doing a lot of mach 3 over whoops runs in the desert, the Raptor is the better bet out of the box.
I'd forget about ANY F250 built in-between the 7.3 and the 6.7 if I were you.
Simply replacing the head-studs on the 6L isn't gonna alleviate you from all 'the problems people have had' with it. Not by a LONG shot. The problems with the 6 and 6.4Ls are design-based from Navistar. Oil-operated fuel injection, so when the fuel pressure drops even a TINY bit, the oil pressure blasts away the injectors...a minor lean condition kills the egr coolers.. head gaskets, TURBOS, oil coolers, EVEN THE FREAKING ECU(FICM in fordspeak) on 'em.
There was also a problem with many blocks getting through with sand in their galleys and coolant passages, necessitating a coolant filter being installed. It's also VERY sensitive with regards to the type of coolant used in 'em, and filter and fluid changes are needed FAR more frequently than what's required with the Cummins, Duramax, and the Ford 7.3 and new 6.7.
Lastly, given all these problems(and I didn't cover them all), using a programmer on 'em is pretty-much suicidal. Oh I've read the 'just replace the oil cooler and install ARP head studs, and you'll have a motor as reliable as a Cummins' crap on the forums too, but it's total crapola.
The new 6.7L is a friggen rocket-ship: 400hp/800ft-lbs of torque, it gets mid-to-high 20s on the freeway(verified by several rags), and unlike the 6 and 6.4's, so far it's shown to be ROCK-SOLID-RELIABLE.
If you can't afford a new 6.7, I'd suggest looking at a 7.3. Not the most powerful diesel motor around, but it was manufacturered for over 20 years(when you take into account the 6.9L was the same block) with very few problems.
Good luck with whichever you choose.

I would go with an f250 before I bought a raptor. The 6.0l engine is only the 2007, anything newer will have a different engine. And I would get a 6.4l powerstroke mod for mod nothing can keep up with them.

0.9% is for suckers!
I traded my 2011 raptor 6.2 crew with 9,000 miles on it for a new 2011 F250 6.7 ultimate. If that helps.
The OP is talking about choosing either an older truck of newer truck built for two different reasons.
Need to narrow it down first. 6.0 is definitely the wrong block to go with on an older Superduty.

6.0/6.4 do have a bad rep and for good reason, but that is not to say they are worth avoiding. 6.0 trucks are cheap now because of this. drop a few grand in deletes and upgrades and they are just as bullet proof as the 7.3 but make more power. I honestly hope the 6.0 prices keep dropping because I'd love to pick one up soon. for the discount price you can buy the truck, fix the known issues and still have an awesome truck for $15-20k
I truly hope the 6.4's continue to have issues too so that theyre prices plummet as well.
a raptor is purpose built, fits a very small niche, and will run you a good double if not more what a decent used 6 liter superduty will, and have much less capability (unless your hitting the whoops as mentioned already)
